Our division empowers young people to engage in advocacy, activism, and service, building skills that fuel change on campuses and in communities across the state. With more than 30 active youth councils, high school chapters, and college chapters, we represent a powerful network of leaders committed to advancing justice, equity, and opportunity. Through organizing, training, and fearless action, our youth and college members are not just preparing for the future — they are shaping it right now.

Fair college admissions

The NAACP New York State Youth and College Division is at the forefront of the fight for fair and equitable college admissions. We stand against policies and practices that disadvantage students of color, low-income students, and first-generation scholars. Our members advocate for holistic admissions processes, greater access to resources, and the dismantling of systemic barriers that keep higher education out of reach for too many. Through organizing, awareness campaigns, and direct action, we are demanding a future where every student has a fair shot at success — no matter their race, zip code, or background.
